How do I know if parent coaching is right for me?
Gentle Roots utilizes the science of behavior change as the foundation of our services. All recommended strategies are rooted in research.
We work with families across a variety of skill areas including but not limited to:
- Getting ready in the morning
- Bedtime routine
- Toilet training
- Meal times
- Completing homework
- Executive functioning and organization skills
- Challenging behaviors at school
We work with kids with development disabilities, including Autism and ADHD, and also kiddos who don’t have a disability but may need extra support.
Do you accept insurance?
No, we do not accept insurance at this time. Insurance companies place strict requirements on having a specific diagnosis and on how treatment models look. At Gentle Roots, we aim to meet families where they are, which is often without an official diagnosis and in different settings than typical treatment can support.
How much do sessions cost?
Services are private-pay and individualized. Most families invest $100+ per session depending on the level of support needed. A free consultation call is available to help determine the best fit.
We will be offering upcoming group webinars to help make services more accessible. Please reach out to request a notification when sign up is available!
Will you work with my child’s school?
Yes! Consultation services are available to work with your child’s school. We are also able to support with the IEP process.
How long does a coaching session last?
Coaching sessions are typically 50-60 minutes long. Gentle Roots provides individualized services, so if we’re tackling a routine together that needs more than an hour at a time, we can do that!
How often do we meet for a coaching session?
Coaching sessions are typically scheduled weekly. We aim to make services accessible to busy families, so if a bi-weekly or alternative schedule is what works for you, we will curate our services on that timeline.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions can take place, virtually, in your home, at school, and in the community. Often, families request a combination of settings so we can be in the moment with you applying strategies, and also provide convenient virtual check ins to match your busy schedule.
Will my child be involved in our meetings?
Definitely! While some meetings may be focused on working directly with your child and others will be conversation-based, your child is always welcome.
